My mom used to always make these at the holidays. They are SO addictive. She used to send me back to college with a huge tin of them and I won't tell you how long they lasted. They are the BEST snack.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 (1 ounce) package dry Ranch-style dressing mix
- 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
- 1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 (12 ounce) package oyster crackers
Directions
- Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, ranch-style dressing mix, dill weed, lemon pepper and garlic powder. Pour this spice mixture over the crackers in a medium bowl, and stir until the crackers are coated. Arrange the crackers on a large baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated 275 degrees F (135 degrees C) oven for 15 to 20 minutes.

My mom made these too. Love them!!! We made some over this past Halloween. They were amazing.
I'll have to try these. They look so good and my boys love anything that has to do with snacking!!!
I plan on trying these out this weekend!
Oh..these just look so, so good. I can't wait to try them. Thanks so much:)
We made them with saltines instead. Looks like a fun new variation, thanks for sharing!
I do something similar with those big hard sourdough pretzels. I'm going to try this, too!
My mom makes these with Whole Wheat Saltines and adds red pepper flakes! Delicious!
I love these! They are addicting, but oh so good! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
We make these with goldfish crackers! The whole family loves them!
I was thinking about these today! I am going to have to make them now!!
oh yum!! These sound amazing, I'm going to add them to my baking list for the holidays! I'll thank you in advance. Thanks!!!
I make these too!!!! They are so yummy. I always split them in half first with my tongue before chewing them. I have no idea why but that is how I eat them. Love them!
My great-grandmother used to make these all the time!
Oh my word...I cannot WAIT to try these. You say the word 'ranch' in my house and everybody runs to the kitchen...it's kind of a bad thing! But I will be going to the store today so I can make these. Thanks for sharing!
mmm...I make these - they're some of my FAVORITES! You can't stop with just a handfull and they always disappear if you take them to a party or especially to someone's house where a football game is on! :)
A very similar recipe is a tradition at our house, too. In our family, we call them "hairy crackers" because the dill weed makes the crackers look hairy. Unappetizing name ... delicious snack!
My old friend's mom used to make them for us to snack on when we were kids, she added red pepper flakes and didn't use lemon pepper. They were DELICIOUS!
those sound yummy!
Too funny you just posted this! I just bought two huge bags of oyster crackers and was wondering what to do with them! Thanks our kids will LOVE these!!!
Oh, I LOVE these & never knew how to make them!
Thanks for sharing, Kelly! :)
We make them with pretzels and call them Lemon Pepper Pretzels. Yum!
Thank you, Kelly, for this wonderful and easy recipe. I have to make an appetizer for tomorrow night and I am pushed for time. This sounds super easy and I have all ingredients on hand-awesome!
Instead of the dill, garlic, and lemon pepper, I use 1/2 package dry italian dressing mix. It's so good with the ranch. I will have to try yours to compare.

I found this a few days ago, made them today. They are good. A nice variation to my regular chex mix I've made for 100 years or so. I'm also using some of the other Chex Mix recipes.
I made a double batch tonight. YUMMO! Thanks for sharing the recipe... my daughter is a freshman at the University of Oklahoma, I plan to send a tin back with her and maybe someday she'll post on her blog about eating them up in college :)
Oh wow! I just made these. They are still warm on the cookie sheet right this second! Well, MOST OF THEM are still on the cookie sheet. Many of them are already in my belly. Yum, Kelly, yum! I think I'll pop over to your mom's blog & tell her how wonderful her recipe is & then I'll make a few more batches for family & neighbors! Thanks for sharing!
Hello Kelly,
I don't know how to comment on your other blog for ideas in your Friday posts. I wondered if you would be interested in everyone sharing what they make for gifts ie cooking/sewing/whatever to give us some new ideas to gift to others.
Enjoy your blog. Thanks A
I made these for my husband's graduation party Saturday and they were a huge hit.
Okay, this is crazy, but I didn't know anyone else ate these too! My stepmom made them for us one year and I fell in love with them! I have since found out I can't eat gluten, so I can't eat them anymore, which makes me so sad. But, glad to see someone else is enjoying them!
we make these! except we don't bake them...my great-aunt introduced these to us once and told us that even though the recipe calls for baking, she doesn't. they still taste absolutely delicious, and can be enjoyed much faster! :p
I LOVE these!!! My dad always makes them to eat while he watches football! :)
You can also make these with Cheez-Its.
They look so good and my boys love anything that has to do with snacking.

I made these for a teacher inservice at my son's school and got the sweetest note back from his teacher. She said they were a hit and THE thing that all the teachers ate. Thanks so much for the recipe.
These are also REALLY yummy with the cheese-filled Ritz Bitz. Seeing this makes me want to make them right now!! :)
I have never heard of this recipe. But since I haven't been able to eat real food. This might be something I can eat and enjoy. Thanks.
I had to stop making these too, I literally have zero self control and eat them til my lips hurt and I gain weight. My mom made them all of the time.
