Since it's 4th of July weekend - I thought I would share the recipe we use for homemade ice cream! It is soooo good! And it would be good to add peaches or chocolate chips or some kind of candy bar to!
2 cans pet milk (you will find this on the baking aisle next to eagle brand milk)
2 cans eagle brand milk
1 cup sugar
1 tbls of vanilla flavoring
And then fill the rest of the container with whole milk
Do you make homemade ice cream??? Since I can't have Ice Cream due to eggs - I can have this so we will be making some on Saturday! Can't wait!
(I'll be back with more recipes soon - Scott is on a strict diet and I'm eating mostly sandwiches so my cooking has been limited but I want to try out new stuff so hopefully I'll be posting more!)

ReplyDeleteHave a marvelous 4th!
This sounds really good with lots of variety potential =) Have a great holiday!!!
ReplyDeleteYummy i made homemade ice cream in a baggie.
ReplyDeleteIn Fact...I just resurrected a recipe that I used years ago-but my pregnant daughter has been craving it so I am making it up for the 4th. It's called 6 Threes Ice Cream. It uses 3 C. milk, 3 C. cream, 3 C. sugar, juice of 3 lemons, juice of 3 oranges, and 3 mashed bananas. Combine milk, cream, and sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Put in ice cream maker and freeze until mushy. Add fruit juices {I substitute with sml. cans of frozen concentrate on lemons & oranges} and the mashed bananas and continue freezing until firm. This can be made ahead of time and packed in the freezer; but it so DELISH to just eat when thickened!
ReplyDeleteHope you will try it out sometime. Have an EXCELLENT 4th of July Holiday weekend.
You've been away for a while... I kept waiting for a new recipe, this is a good one! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love that this doesn't call for cream. What is pet milk??
ReplyDeleteI love homemade ice cream. We don't have an ic machine though. I wish we would have registgered for one when we got married. Didn't think about it.
ReplyDeleteThis is my dad's death by chocolate ice cream.
ReplyDelete-1 can Eagle Brand MilK
-1 Half galloon premade chocolate milk
-1 can of Hersey's Chocolate Syrup (buy a bottle if you can't find a can)
Mix all of these in container and add whole milk until you are just shy of the fill line. Start mixer. After about 15 min, open container being careful not to get any salt in. Add bag of chocolate chips. Close and let finish.
Oh So YUMMY!
YUMMY! I'll have to try it out. The picture is so adorable. I Love your recipes Kelly!
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so great! Thanks for the recipe, Kelly! We made it for the 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the recipe! We made this for the 4th and it was GREAT!! I love reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteAnother easy recipe for Homemade ice cream which isn't too far from yours is:
ReplyDelete1 LG package of Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 can of sweetened condensed Milk
1 gallon of Whole Milk.
Mix well and put in your ice cream freezer and your ready to go! And if you want to add fruit or candy bars just reduce the amount of milk slightly.
In my family, we have a traditional homemade ice cream called Pop Rouge meaning Red Pop.
ReplyDelete3 cans evaporated milk
2 cans condensed milk
fill with your favorite red pop to the fill line!
It makes a wonderful strawberry ice cream!
Hi Kelly, I love this, I am going to have to try it next! We make an easy choc ice cream. it is one can of eagle brand milk, and 1/2 gallon of choc milk. It is sooo good! It is kind of like a wendy's frosty. I just thought I would share it with you!
ReplyDeleteI love homemade ice cream! Since you can't have eggs, you might try this recipe:
ReplyDeleteOrange Pineapple Sherbet
2 cans Eagle Brand milk
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 - 2 liter orange pop
Pour all 4 items into ice cream freezer and plug in (or crank handle) until thick (about 2 hours or so).
This is so easy, so good, and did I say so easy????
I think it tastes better the next day, but is wonderful the first day too.
Oh, don't forget you'll need ice and rock salt for the ice cream maker. :)
I am glad to hear someone else mention peaches with homemade ice cream. My hubby looked at me crazy when I started cutting up a fresh peach to put in my homemade ice cream. I made him try it though and his eyes about popped out in surprise. It's good!
ReplyDeleteThese all sound great! Another easy one is:
ReplyDelete1 can Eagle brand milk
about a liter of your favorite soda
Mix and freeze like normal! Tastes kind of like a float...yummy!!!
Have you tried Bryer's ice cream? I really can't remember, but I do NOT think it has eggs in it. You might try that.
ReplyDeleteI have had this recipe for years & it is amazing...no eggs.
ReplyDeleteHomemade Ice Cream

Add:
2 pts. whipping cream

I make homemade Orange sherbet...YUMMO!
ReplyDelete1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 small can crushed pineapple
2 liter orange soda
Mix together well and turn on freezer as normal. You won't believe how wonderful this is. So simple, but in my opinion much better than "real" sherbet! Also, no eggs to worry about. :)
