This is something I make that I don't have an exact recipe for and I'm one of those people who doesn't fully measure out everything so I'll do my best ........these are SO yummy!
Ingredients:
2 or 3 cans of whole green beans
Bacon slices
1 stick of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
tsp of garlic salt
Wrap a handful of green beans in half a slice of bacon. That makes one bundle - keep going for as many bundles as you would like to have. Melt a stick of butter and stir in one cup of brown sugar (more or less depending on how sweet you would like it). Add a teaspoon of garlic salt. Pour over bundles. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Then put under the broiler for 4-5 minutes at the end. DELICIOUS!
I LOVE making these! I use frozen french style green beans, wrap with bacon and then sprinkle with seasoned salt. yummy!
ReplyDeleteThose sound so yummy!!

I tried these at Easter and they are incredible!
ReplyDeleteI have a question for Tiffany regarding King Ranch Chicken. Does the chicken go anywhere near the ingredients for the casserole? Or is it a side dish to baked chicken? Thanks ...
ReplyDeleteWe make them too - and they are incredible!! :-)
ReplyDeleteKelly, My sister in law made the green beans at Easter, but she poored Cheese Whiz over them at the end. I thought it would be terrible, but it was actually very, very good. Try it next time!
ReplyDeletethis is my dad's FAVORITE dish to have, that only he eats, for Christmas and Thanksgiving! My mom pours Italian dressing over hers though before she bakes them. they are good but i never thought anyone else ate these things! haha.... i'm now hungry..haha
ReplyDeleteI am SO going to try this! What could be better than green beans and bacon? By the way, I fix your Swiss Stuffing Chicken now a lot and we love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite green bundle recipe!! My husband was just saying he wanted this with supper tonight!!
ReplyDeleteGreat recipe! I came across this today and made the green bean bundles for dinner tonight. My husband and I loved this dish. Thanks!! Cara
ReplyDeleteOMG I am so hungry now! This is the first time I've visited your recipe blog & I LOVE it! I read Kelly's Korner daily & I just wanted to tell you that I love seeing pics of Harper & reading her updates. She is so precious. I have just recently cut my work hours way back so I can be home & more available for my 9 yr old daughter who is a Type1 diabetic. Since I'm home more, I've been TRYING to cook more...hehe. TRYING being the key word here. I love finding recipes online. Thanks for all you do!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKelly,
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a very picky eater and has recently been diagnosed with a wheat allergy. So for the last several weeks, I have been trying to cook without wheat and flour--boy, is that harder than you think! I made your Artichoke Chicken tonight and he liked it very much. So much he is taking it for lunch tomorrow--and he normally doesn't even like left overs!!! Thanks for another meal I can fix. It was easy and yummy! I hope it's okay, but I'm going to post about it on my blog tonight.
Amy
Thanks so much for posting this! Maybe I can get my husband to eat some veggies if I wrap them in bacon? What do you think?
ReplyDeleteLooks super yummy! I love your header, Paula Deen approved! Dont you just love her???
ReplyDeleteOK - this is so crazy, but when I did finally roll out of bed on Mother's Day morning, I thought of you and how much I couldn't wait to hear your Mother's Day happenings. I'm so glad you had a special day with Harper and your Mom.
ReplyDeleteWe made these once using asparagus. Yum.
My family loves green bean bundles. Me? Not so much because they poor French/Russian/Catalina/Red Dressing (whatever you want to call it!) over the bundles then bake them. I am not a big fan of that recipe so I will definately try this one out. Thanks for the great recipes!
ReplyDeleteI love green bean bundles...was going to tell you about an even easier method...you can use catalina dressing instead of making your own dressing. It is PHENOMENAL! :) Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI am sooo sorry I forgot to tell where to put to chicken!! you take the chicken off the bone and cut up in small pieces and put it on top of the doritos. again sorry about that!!
ReplyDeleteMy family totally makes these! They are delicious!
ReplyDeleteGreen Bean Bundles are yummo! I had these at my wedding and I have been hooked ever since. They make me miss home (Louisiana), but it gives me the opportunity to share the deliciousness with Indianapolis:)!
ReplyDeleteI love green bean bundles. A friend of my makes these but instead of using the butter and sugar, she uses 1 cup of Wishbone Italian dressing on the green beans! It is such an easy side dish!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try this at my next dinner party...I actually thought it was asparagus when I first looked at the pictures the other day.
ReplyDeleteI can't send you an email because I don't have Outlook Express as my primary email, so I'm sending a comment.
ReplyDeleteYour post titled "Want to be My Neighbor?" on your other blog must have been deleted because it's not showing up.
I figured you wouldn't see the comment on your other blog because there's so many.
Kelly, I made these and they were GREAT. However, 15 minutes was more than enough time in my oven.
ReplyDeleteI think you just saved my marriage! I just started a menu/ingredient shopping list to cut our budget and had to tell my husband he was just gonna have to eat what I cook or live off of starburst and cereal (he was that picky) I deliberately made a menu of things he hates to prove a point (pastas, smothered dishes) and I came across the Green bean recipe thinking "great, here we go I'm going to have to force feed him" HE LOVED THEM! I did too! I have to learn to get the bacon just a lil crisper but they were great and he was amazed at the flavor!
ReplyDeleteI made this last week and it was totally a hit!!! Thanks for posting it! In fact, I've sent your blog link to my daughters...you have such great recipes!
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying this wonderful Spring with Harper!!
Looks delicious! Everything on this blog looks so good Kelly!
ReplyDeleteWe love these, but when it is just "us" I make green bean "unbundles" -- exact same recipe except you just stir up all the ingredients together rather than making bundles. Just as yummy!
ReplyDeleteI also do these another way - drain green beans, reserve 1/2 can of juice, place beans in a rectangular plastic storage container, pour one bottle (regular size one) Wish-Bone Itailan dressing over beans, cover and let sit in refigrator over-night. The next day, wrap small bundles in bacon and placed in greased baking dish...pour over the reserved dish...the rest is just like yours...
ReplyDeleteOh also - I use the thin cut or center cut bacon. Sometimes, I even cook it a little before start "bundling" just to make sure it gets all the way done...
My husband made these for a recent dinner we had over at my parents house..and they were GREAT. Everyone could not get enough!!
ReplyDeleteI make these as well- but instead of mixing butter with the brown sugar- we use Worcestershire sauce.....just enough until the brown sugar is syrupy....AMAZING!!!!!
ReplyDeletePaula Deen has a recipe for fried green bean bundles that is delicious. Be sure to check it out!
ReplyDeleteOh, the brilliance that is bean bundles! It was a big weekend here ~ Father's Day & Anniversary! These were such pretty, yummy additions to the meal. Thank you for sharing!

ReplyDeleteMy family cheats. We put the green beans in a casserole dish and use real bacon bits. Still pouring the brown sugar, butter, garlic over them. SO go and a little easier!
