I love this! We mix it together and throw gummy worms on top. I also put it in a plastic planter and stick fake flowers in it to give it the "dirt cake" effect!

Mmmm...this looks yummy & I think it is a little different than the recipe I have somewhere in one of my cookbooks. I might need to make this soon!

My mom used to make this for our classroom parties in elementary school in the sand buckets and flower pots sometimes and she would mix in gummy worms (if used in the flower pot and add fake flowers and serve it w/ a shoval) and she would make jello jigglers in the shapes of sea creatures if she used the sand bucket and would also serve it w/ a shoval and sometimes make 2 and put one in a sand castle mold and the other in the bucket! :) OH and she'd dye the pudding layer blue like water!

I have made this receipe for my kids parties. I use oreo cookies for the crumbs(dirt). I bought a brand new flower pot and fake brand new silk flowers. I use gummy worms and serve with a brand new small shovel. It is always a big hit. And yes I can eat alot of it.

This is a family favorite. I saw the comment about the gummy worms - that is exactly how I make it! Kids love it!! We just call it "dirt" - but it really is easy and yummy.

I love your recipes - they are normal, family foods!!!

Thanks!

I do believe that I, too, could eat this entire dirt cake - especially if I had some salty chips to snack on in between layers. YUM!

Ok stupid question but is it powdered sugar or normal sugar?!?!

This is a favorite that my kids always asked for when they were younger. One year we had a party at the water park and instead of using chocolate cookies for the dirt, we used pecan sandies cookies and it looked like SAND!!! How fun!!! We used a sand bucket and and sand shovel! Fun in the sun!!!
