Bits O Brickle Bars

My friend Isabel made these a few years ago and I loved them. They are a fall favorite of mine now!

1 yellow cake mix
1 egg
1/3 c. butter
1 (14 oz.) Eagle Brand milk
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 c. Heath Bits O' Brickle

Mix first 3 ingredients until crumbly. Pat into 9x13 pan. Mix the rest of the ingredients together and pour over cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Cool and cut into squares.

This sounds yummy! I have fixed the recipe with bits in the cream cheese and brown sugar but this will be something that last longer, well maybe not. Anyway thanks for the recipe.

Kelly, these were great! I didnt have one last night but I took one home to Shaun. He was already in bed because he had an early flight this morning so I ate it for him on the way to take the girls to school! So good! Best I have ever had! I had so much fun last night!

Hi Kelly,

I make a dip (kind of like what Rambling Girl said) with 8 oz. of cream cheese, 1/3 c. each white and brown sugar, a splash of vanilla, and a package of brickle, then dip granny smith apples in it. I figure dipping fruit in it helps to cancel out the calories- right!? :) I work with the youth group at our church and this has become our official snack. I am always told what to bring to get-togethers! I'll have to try out your recipe- sounds yummy!

Hi! What kind of milk do you use? Evaporated or sweetened condensed milk? Also do you melt the butter or just blend softened? Thanks!

Kelly, I've been reading your blog (Kelly's Korner) for a while. I wanted to leave you a comment there, but I would have to use my email and I only have a school email address. I wasn't sure if it would be visible for all to see, so I didn't want to post. Anyway, I saw that you were having an issue with someone using your pics on fb. I thought I'd search for the person reversing the order of the names, and sure enough the person made a new account under Bronson Warren. I didn't know how to contact you other than posting this here. Can you post back to this comment so that I know that you received it? I've been praying for you and I just wanted to say that even though you are facing this issue, our God is bigger than anything and anyone, and He will protect and uphold you! I know that a lot of people said they were hoping you wouldn't go private, and I can see why, but ultimately the only ones you are accountable to are God and your family. Do what you feel is best even if people are disappointed. I hope you don't mind me saying that :) You're a strong, beautiful woman, and I pray that you and your family are blessed in abundance!
