Chicken Breast Supreme

CHICKEN BREAST SUPREME
Ingredients:
4 chicken breasts
4-8 strips of bacon
16 oz sour cream
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of sliced mushrooms
1 jar of dried beef (this is found near tuna or spam)
Wrap the chicken in bacon and put in pan
Mix up all the other ingredients. Tear up the dried beef into small pieces (this is what gives the meal the real flavor)
Pour mixture over chicken and bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours
I always serve with white rice and pour the extra sauce on top. If we had company - we would add vegetables or a salad and rolls - but since it's just us - we just had this. TASTY!

  2. Kelly,

I made your chicken supreme for dinner last weekend, and it was a huge hit. In fact, there was almost a fight over who was going to eat the last chicken breast ;) Thanks for posting this!

  3. We had this for dinner tonight. It was VERY good! I lightened it up by using light sour cream, 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup and turkey bacon. We really enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing.

  5. Have you ever made this with cream cheese instead of sour cream? That's how I grew up eating it. It's one of my favorite meals. YUM.

  6. Hey Kelly, I know you posted this ages ago, and I don't know if you'll get notification of this comment, but I made this dish recently and for some reason the chicken was not cooked all the way through. Have you ever had that problem? We ended up nuking it to make sure all the pink was gone, and it was DELICIOUS. I just was curious if you had ever run into that...

  10. Hi Kelly,

I have been following your blog since Harper was born but just now found your recipe blog.We have made this chicken recipe for years and LOVE it!! Most of your recipes look so familiar to me. I also make the little party sandwiches too! No one from TN has ever had them. I am from Nashville,Arkansas but live in Nashville,Tennessee. It must be an Arkansas thing.... :) Anyway, can't wait to try some of them.

  11. We have been eating this for years. It's a birthday dinner favorite. We call it party chicken. We recently started using the golden mushroom soup and I think my Mom has tried a mushroom and garlic soup and both ways it was amazing.

  13. This must be a Southern thing for sure. My grandmother had a very similar recipe, just minus the bacon. I'll have to try it that way... how could bacon be bad!!?

  17. Love your blog. Made this recipe last night. Husband loved it! However, I felt like the sour cream got kind of curdled and dry, and there seemed to be quite a bit of grease in the bottom from the bacon. Does it cook covered or uncovered?

  19. I've been following your blog for a while, I was looking yesterday at your recipes, because I was wanting something "different" than our usual. So I tried this Chicken Breast Supreme. It turned out really good, and my extremely picky husband even liked it. So Thanks!! We've decided this is a must to be thrown into our mix. I've even passed it along to my mother to try....
